I’m a creative leader, designer, PHOTOGRAPHER and artist BASED IN CHICAGO.
With over 15 years of helping brands shape their customers’ experiences, I’m a player/coach who uses a mix of art & design, strategic thinking, and production expertise to create effective work within budgets and deadlines.
Born in the Second City, I grew up on a diet of pizza, Italian beef, anime, and Saturday morning cartoons. This naturally turned into a love of drawing, photography, and story telling. A high school class in computer aided drafting became a gateway to graphic design which led me to study at Columbia College Chicago. Starting as a print production designer at Time Out Chicago magazine I moved into the ad world working at agencies in Minneapolis and Chicago helping companies grow their brands. This includes creating McDonald’s first ever social media-based sweepstakes, stewarding a 110 year old shoe polish company into a new market, and launching Samsung’s biggest gaming display ever.
One of my favorite photos my dad took of me. My fate as a visual artist was pretty much sealed from the get-go.
I believe that strategy drives creative and that most communication problems can be solved with smart design. I strive to bring energy, humor, and inspiration to everyone I work with. And I embrace experimentation and the virtue of failing forward. I’m highly organized and take pride in my speed and efficiency in getting the job done. While marketing can be chaotic, I maintain a challenging but stable environment for me and my team.
Having a photography background comes in handy at work. I’ll occasionally use my spare room at home as a back-up studio to tackle quick-turn social media briefs.
Raised by an immigrant, photographer father and an extroverted mother I thrive in collaborative, creative spaces. I think globally, advocate for accessible design, and the ethical use of AI in advertising and marketing. I love a good communication challenge, finding ways to make work that hits people in the feels. Outside of work you’ll find me at a comic or anime convention taking photos of cosplayers, painting pictures of hot dogs, or belting it out at a local karaoke bar.
